Al Carajo: Reviews & Ratings
One of the best breakfast burritos in the city, with hashbrowns, avocado, cheese, eggs, and what I think was birria meat (delicious). Comes with sriracha mayo on the side. Burrito was reasonably priced (for SF) at ~$15. Half a burrito is what I would consider one serving, although YMMV. Food came out quickly, in <10 minutes. Counter service with a few limited tables available for outdoor seating. If you order to eat there, they'll bring the food to you when it's ready, and clear the table when you leave.
We swung by Al Carajo for some breakfast burritos and were not disappointed! The space inside was tiny, but we got our burritos to go so it wasn't a problem. On a busy Saturday brunch period we had to wait around 15 minutes for our food which wasn't a problem. The burritos themselves were delicious, well constructed, and easy to eat while mobile. For sure recommend others try this spot out.
Nice staff, clean place. Breakfast burrito comes out to $15.21. The size is respectable, taste Is generally solid, although all the flavour comes from the salsa. Seems to be missing that wow factor, that other nearby breakfast burrito spots can offer. All in all solid, but better options exist in The Mission
My boyfriend and I got the Mayan Burrito and we loved it. Yummy, fresh, amazing tortilla, great portion, yummy chips, clean kitchen, fast service, good location, fair prices. What’s not to love?
One of the best breakfast burritos I've had the agua fresca was soooo good too. Owner super friendly and if I'm ever in the area I'll grab me more food! The torta was amazing too I had a bite of that.
Today I finally got to try their famous breakfast burrito. The hype is definitely real. I ordered 2 breakfast burritos but unfortunately when I got home I received 1 breakfast burrito and 1 egg quesadilla . I reviewed my receipt and it confirmed that they probably gave me the wrong order and I paid too much. I would still recommend to try it out.
THE BEST BREAKFAST BURRITO. Al Carajo in the Mission makes the best breakfast burrito I’ve ever had. The hash browns are cooked perfectly, crisp and structured without any grease. It’s a meat-forward burrito, but not overwhelming the way a Deli Board sandwich can be. The chipotle sauce that comes with it is ideal for drizzling and pulls the whole thing together. The staff inside is always friendly, and when I order through DoorDash it consistently arrives very warm. Call outs for the chorizo, eggs, avocado and crispy potatoes are balanced, and I agree. This burrito earns its reputation.
I'm not very familiar with Yucatan cuisine, but liked this place - the chicken tinga quesadilla was a personal favorite and I liked it more than their famous breakfast burrito, which was good and had a nice crunch, but was quite oily. Husband had their ceviche and it was sweeter than expected, but good. I also liked their hot sauce a lot. Dog friendly outdoor seating is a nice plus.
